Regulates mRNA levels by targeting transcripts containing AREs (AU-rich elements) into the decay pathway. Phosphorylation by Akt apparently generates 14-3-3 binding sites and inhibits BRF1 from promoting mRNA activity.Contains 2 C3H1-type zinc fingers.
