DZIP3
E3 Ubiquitin ligase proteins mediate ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins. E3 ubiquitin ligases accept ubiquitin from an E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme in the form of a thioester and then directly transfers the ubiquitin to targeted substrates. Able to specifically bind RNA. Widely expressed at low level. Highly expressed in skeletal muscle, kidney and heart. Expressed at low level in placenta, lung, brain, liver and pancreas. 2 alternatively spliced human isoforms have been reported. Note: This description may include information from UniProtKB.
