a glycopeptide transferase involved in O-linked oligosaccharide biosynthesis, which catalyzes the transfer of an N-acetyl-D-galactosamine residue to an already glycosylated peptide. A single-pass type II membrane protein that localizes to the Golgi apparatus membrane. Two alternatively spliced human isoforms have been described.
