Transcriptional regulator. Involved in the initiation of neuronal differentiation. Activates transcription by binding to the E box (5'-CANNTG-3'). Expressed in several tissues and cell types including skeletal muscle, thymus, and a B-cell line. 4 alternatively spliced human isoforms have been reported.
