snRNP 70 mediates the splicing of pre-mRNA by binding to the loop I region of U1-snRNA. Participates in pre-mRNA splicing and exonic splicing complexes. A major ribonucleoprotein antigen recognized by the sera from patients with autoimmune diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus. Four alternatively spliced human isoforms have been described.
