KIF23 iso2 a member of kinesin-like protein family. Plus-end-directed motor enzyme that moves antiparallel microtubules in vitro. Localizes to the interzone of mitotic spindles. The kinesin family includes microtubule-dependent molecular motors that transport organelles within cells and move chromosomes during cell division. Alternate splicing results in two different human isoforms. Note: This description may include information from UniProtKB.
Protein type: Microtubule-binding; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Motor
