UGT1A10 UDPGT is of major importance in the conjugation and subsequent elimination of potentially toxic xenobiotics and endogenous compounds. Isoform 2 lacks transferase activity but acts as a negative regulator of isoform 1. Belongs to the UDP-glycosyltransferase family. Liver and colon. Isoform 1 and isoform 2 are expressed in colon, esophagus and small intestine; isoform 2 but not isoform 1 is expressed in liver or kidney (PubMed:18004212). 2 alternatively spliced human isoforms have been reported.
