ATP2B3
This magnesium-dependent enzyme catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled with the transport of calcium out of the cell. Belongs to the cation transport ATPase (P-type) (TC 3.A.3) family. Type IIB subfamily. Highly expressed in the cerebellum, particulary in the presynaptic terminals of parallel fibers-Purkinje neurons. Isoform XE and isoform XB are the most abundant isoforms and are detected at low levels in brain and fetal skeletal muscle. The other isoforms are only found at lower levels and not in fetal tissues. 8 alternatively spliced human isoforms have been reported. Note: This description may include information from UniProtKB.
