Overview
LATS2 an AGC kinase of the NDR family of kinases. A tumor suppressor of the LATS family. Plays a critical role in centrosome duplication, maintenance of mitotic fidelity and genomic stability. Inhibits cell growth at the G1/S transition by down-regulating cyclin E/CDK2 kinase activity. Negative regulator of the androgen receptor. Interacts with and is phosphorylated by STK6. Ectopic expression induces apoptosis in lung cancer cell lines. Negatively regulates androgen receptor, and is downregulated in prostate cancer Note: This description may include information from UniProtKB.
