MARK1 a member of the CAMKL family of protein kinases. The MARK group of kinases is apparently involved in the control of cell polarity, microtubule stability and cancer. MARK1 forms a tight association with Tau in neurofibrillary tangles in Alzheimer disease tissue. Note: This description may include information from UniProtKB.
