Overview
MRLC1 Myosin regulatory subunit that plays an important role in regulation of both smooth muscle and nonmuscle cell contractile activity via its phosphorylation. Implicated in cytokinesis, receptor capping, and cell locomotion. Myosin is an hexamer of 2 heavy chains and 4 light chains. Smooth muscle tissues and in some, but not all, nonmuscle cells. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Note: This description may include information from UniProtKB.
