Overview
Radixin a cytoskeletal protein of the ERM family which includes ezrin and moiesin. ERM proteins appear to function as cross-linkers between plasma membranes and actin-based cytoskeletons. May play a crucial role in the binding of the barbed end of actin filaments to the plasma membrane. Note: This description may include information from UniProtKB.
Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Cytoskeletal protein
Cellular Component: extracellular space; focal adhesion; T-tubule; ruffle; stereocilium; extrinsic to membrane; cytoskeleton; lamellipodium; apical part of cell; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; filopodium; cleavage furrow
Molecular Function: protein binding; actin binding
Biological Process: microvillus biogenesis; apical protein localization; actin filament capping
Reference #:  P35241 (UniProtKB)
