Overview
RELB a transcription factor of the nuclear factor-kappaB (NFkB) transcription complex. Stimulates promoter activity in the presence NFkB1/NFkB-p50. Plays role in regulation of apoptosis in hepatocellular carcinoma through activation of downstream target genes. Does not associate with DNA or RelA/NFkB-p65. Note: This description may include information from UniProtKB.
Protein type: Transcription factor
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.32
Cellular Component: cytoplasm; cytosol; microtubule organizing center; nucleoplasm; nucleus
Molecular Function: chromatin binding; protein binding; transcription corepressor activity; transcription factor activity
Biological Process: antigen processing and presentation; circadian regulation of gene expression; I-kappaB kinase/NF-kappaB cascade; inflammatory response; innate immune response; myeloid dendritic cell differentiation; negative regulation of interferon-beta production; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; response to cytokine stimulus; stimulatory C-type lectin receptor signaling pathway; T-helper 1 cell differentiation; transcription, DNA-dependent; tumor necrosis factor-mediated signaling pathway
